Houston). We used the autonomous underwater vehicle AUV\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whoi.edu\/what-we-do\/explore\/underwater-vehicles\/auvs\/sentry\/\">Sentry<\/a>\u00a0and a deeptow towed magnetic sled with the objective of surveying the Pacific Hawaiian magnetic record to compare with our previous work in the Japanese lineations and the previous 2011 cruise to the Hawaiian lineations. The AUV sentry worked flawlessly and collected almost 600 km of near-bottom, high resolution magnetic field data.
