Many of our facilities are shared among several groups at WHOI.<\/p>\n\t\n\t<h3>Our general purpose wet lab<\/h3>\n<p>Our group has a dedicated general purpose wet lab, Clark 410, which is used for sediment prep, deep-sea coral cleaning, and other basic chemistry. We have a fume hood and a HEPA-filtered clean hood.<\/p>\n\t\n\t<h3>Clean labs<\/h3>\n<p>We have shared use of two trace-metal clean labs in Clark where we prepare samples for U\/Th dating and Nd isotope analysis. The one pictured to the left was built in two shipping containers and is on the roof of Clark (with a pretty nice view!)<\/p>\n\t\n\t<h3>WHOI Plasma Facility<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/icpfacility\/\">WHOI Plasma Facility<\/a> houses a ThermoFisher Neptune multicollector (MC)-ICP-MS for high-precision isotope measurements and iCAP Qc quadrupole ICP-MS for lower-precision elemental analyses. We will soon add an Agilent 5900 ICP-ES to the lab, which will expand our capabilities to measure elemental compositions of higher concentration samples.<\/p>\n\t\n\t<h3>Seafloor samples Laboratory<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/seafloorsampleslab\/\">WHOI Seafloor Samples Laboratory<\/a>, located in McLean, houses thousands of sediment cores and other marine geological samples. This is where our deep-sea corals will be stored.
