The Science of Microplastics in the World Ocean – Logistics<\/h1>\n

An\u00a0International Workshop to Formulate Next Steps in Understanding the Fate, Distribution, Impacts, and Technology Development Necessary to Push the Science<\/h3>\n\t

Conference Locations<\/h2>\n

Symposium\u00a0plenary sessions and presentations\u00a0will take place in Redfield Auditorium (<\/strong>Water Street, WHOI’s Village campus<\/strong><\/a>) and poster sessions on the 5th Floor of Clark Lab (<\/strong>Woods Hole Road, WHOI’s Quissett Campus<\/strong><\/a>)<\/strong>. There will be a bus to transport participants between certain hotels (see below), Woods Hole Village and the Quissett Campus.\u00a0 Parking is very limited in Woods Hole Village and it’s recommended that if you have your own transportation to park on Quissett Campus where a shuttle is available that goes back and forth to the village.<\/p>\n

Air Travel<\/h2>\n

The two airports nearest to Woods Hole are\u00a0Boston Logan Airport<\/a>\u00a0(BOS) and\u00a0Providence T.F. Green Airport<\/a>\u00a0(PVD). Both airports are just under 80 miles from Woods Hole, and both offer\u00a0bus service (Peter Pan Bus Lines<\/a>) to Falmouth and\u00a0Woods Hole. Please check bus schedules ahead of time to make sure your flight does not arrive too late to catch the last bus.<\/p>\n

Ground Transportation<\/h2>\n

Direct bus service to Falmouth and the Village of Woods Hole on the\u00a0Peter Pan\/Bonanza Bus<\/a>\u00a0is available from both airports.\u00a0 On Peter Pan’s web site put in Boston Logan Airport or T.F. Green Airport and then Falmouth or Woods Hole to get the correct schedules.\u00a0 Please note that there are fewer bus runs (4\/day) from T.F Green and the trip involves a couple transfers and is not as convenient as buses from Boston’s Logan Airport.\u00a0 At Boston’s Logan Airport, Peter Pan buses (8 bus runs\/day) leave directly for Falmouth and Woods Hole, taking about 2.5 hours.\u00a0 The bus stop for “scheduled buses” can be found right outside each terminal (exit ground floor of the baggage claim area) at Boston Logan Airport.\u00a0 If you are planning to utilize the bus service, it’s best to try and coordinate your flight arrival time close to the bus departure time.\u00a0 Also, please check the trip duration for each bus as they can vary.<\/p>\nAlternatives to bus transportation<\/strong>
