English Assistance
International committee members can assist you in finding the resources you need to improve your English language skills. Listed below are some of the English language programs on Cape Cod that may be helpful.
We are also happy to meet with you for informal conversation and discussion, but we are not trained, or have the resources and time to actually tutor English properly.
Please contact the International Committee member in your department for more information, or contact Andrew Daly, phone: 508-289-2852, email: adaly@whoi.edu.
Free English Classes in Falmouth
Saint Patrick's Church
511 Main Street, Falmouth, MA 02540
508-548-1065
Unfortunately, the weekly English classes at St. Patrick's Church are postponed due to Covid19 until further notice.
This class is run by volunteer teachers, and it also has three levels of classes. The students are mostly adults and are from diverse backgrounds. Classes are scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00. The school year is from September to April. The classes are small - no more than 12 students in a class. A personal appointment is not needed, and the student will be assessed and assigned to an appropriate group. They are good about allowing students to join the class at any time if there is room.
This program is organized by the Catholic Social Services and there is no charge.
The coordinator is Susan Morrison who you can email at spmorrison4@comcast.net or call her at 508-563-2492. She will provide the details about the program. The teachers in this program are good about allowing new students to join the class at any time.
